|
|
Lately there have been a few phishers present on this board that are posting their links to try and steal people's rapidshare account(s).
Heads up:
Whenever you are going to download something from this board make sure the ur contains rapidshare.com.
Most of the time the posters try to fool the downloaders by camouflaging their link like this:
http://rapidshare.com/files/113453636/Israeli_couple.wmv
It LOOKS like a rapidshare.com link but when you hover over it you will see that it actually takes you to tiny123.com which is a phishing site!
If anyone comes up with a post that containts a suspicious link please sent a PM to a staff member.
Regards,
TheBiaatch

Hi everyone. Just to clarify tiny123.com is not a phishing site. Tiny123.com is a URL shortening site much like tinyurl.com.
Having said that, I'm the admin of tiny123.com and will delete the offending URL as we do not tolerate abuse of our system.
Thanks.

Then why the hell would people just not post the tiny123.com links? Why do they show the rapidshare link but redirect to the tiny123.com link? I see not use in doing that?

Exactly. They are phishing. Tiny123 is what it is, a URL shortening service.
They want you to think you are going to a rapidshare link but are really forwarding you to a different site with a long URL.
A lot of people fall for this. Anywho the link was taken down from my site.

the best way to stop phishing is to ban all url redirection sites

i dont know how i got redirected to this forum but i like the layout and plan to become an active member. however, there are a shitload of abusers lurking on this forum.
i guess this is more of a suggestion/comment but wouldnt it be easier for the admin/staff if you activate the REPORT BUTTON option? im not sure how active the other leechers/members are on this forum but in my experience working/modding/uploading...people are too lazy/embarrassed to pm staff. having a report button is an overall easy way to maintain/organize this forum.
__________
EDIT: i got this off another forum and if you actually want to make a difference...i have tested this tactic...it works!!!
i got this info off another forum and ive personally tested it...system works!!!

It’s absolute annoying to see all those phishing post in this forum. Personally I believe that less than 5 phishers or group of phishers are working here full-time. Just reporting to the mods and waiting for the deletion of the post does not help. A mod is online in average every 2 hours and the phisher needs 5 minutes to create a new pornbb account including a new mail address. In other words: this forum has no effective weapons against these bastards.
But I believe that a large group should be able to strike back in another area: WE CAN damage the phishing infrastructure of these bastards. And it’s no rocket science at all. The phishers have faked interfaces at third-party domains like blackapplehost-dot-com, justfree-dot-com, freewhost-dot-com or ripway-dot-com. The operators of these domains are not interested to have the phishers in their systems. Their TOS do not allow porn, phishing, fraud or similar. They just need to be informed and all will terminate the phishing infrastructure.
And my friends: it will cost the phisher by far more time to repair this damage: I assume that the phisher will need 60-90 minutes to repair each deleted host (creation, uploading, customizing, maintaining the preconditions of the hoster,…). They will come back, but it is nevertheless more efficient than just clicking the report button in pornbb. And we are a large community against a small group of bastards.
That’s a typical phishing post with a faked <link 1> that leads to a faked rapidshare interface at the real address <link 2>
Take these 2 information’s and copy it into the following mail:
Subject: complaint about phishing, porn and redirection from your domain
Hello support team,
One of your users is using your services for account phishing and redirection to porn sites. As an example: The rapidshare link <link 1> is redirected to <link 2>
The person is using on your systems a faked rapidshare interface to phish and steals premium accounts for rapidshare. I checked your TOS and I believe that this is also a significant violation of them. Please terminate this account.
Regards
I did it 4 times with blackapplehost, ripway and freewhost. It works within 2-3 hours.
Mail recipients: (full domain names are banned in pornbb, so please replace the -dot- )
help@ripway-dot-com
BlackAppleHost@Gmail-dot-com
abuse@Freewhost-dot-com
abuse@justfree-dot-com
… to be completed
This is by far faster than writing 30 stupid warnings into phishing posts. The phisher doesn’t care anyway. He’s just happy that his shit is still on the top of the board.
Personal vendetta: If you are fully aware what you are doing then you might click in the faked interface on premium and tell the phisher that HIS account will die. In the example:
Account ksp8685 information is taken from link2
Password will.die LOL

another comment made on a later date by blue-bull:
I am disappointed about the missing reactions and I cannot believe how foolish those mass repliers to phishing posts are. It is absolute useless to write a phishing warning into a post!
I observed that for more than 1 week the account ripway/piyap was used to spam probably 500 phishing posts into this forum. I have written yesterday 3 mails in 10 minutes to justfree-dot-com and ripway-dot-com and the crap is gone:
Rest in peace - fuckers:
ripway/piyap
justfree/rs687
ripway/machostea
Die soon:
justfree/rs880
ripway/kav
